This is gross... but not as gross as snaking the drain. And I had just replaced the drain too... had to unscrew the middle portion use this but this catches the wife hair and I have not seen one of the California hair spiders on the wall once. California hair spiders are the hair balls my wife would wipe off the drain and stick to the wall so she could throw it out.

I have had lots of problems with my tub drain. It's old and the snake doesn't go through from the tub side. I have to crawl into a crawl space and take apart the trap. Last year I did this three times. I have an old wire drain screen, but it seems to both let stuff by or clog all the time.
I got the Tubfriend hair catcher and gave it the worst test I could imagine - I washed my dog. The accompanying photo shows the results. I found that my drain runs cleaner and I haven't had any problems in several months. When the tub starts to drain slowly, Tubfriend catcher is easy to clean and it doesn't build up a lot of residue like my old device. I love this.

I was so afraid to wash my hair because the thickness would stop up the tub. This tubshroom changed my hair washing routine forever. They say you can leave it in for 1-2 weeks but I have to remove it after each wash because the TubFriend hair catcher can't manage my hair thicknesses. Great product!!!!!

I have been clogging drains with long hair since I was about 4. I was actually worried I was going bald with all my hair shedding. With one long haired boyfriend and a husky, we were snaking drains about once a week until I started buying hair traps for the shower. I have used about 10 different brands and this is by far the easiest to clean and use. If you can wait a bit for the soap scum to dry up, the hair pulls right off. Even wet it's by far the easiest to clean I have come across. Give it a try!

I have to say I am super impressed with this plug.. I fought with dog hair clogging my tub when I washed my great danes. I would have to pick the hair out throughout the bath to keep the water flowing down the drain. With this it continues to flow and collect hair. Easy to clean off. I love this. I recommend it to
All pet owners.
The only con is that my puppy can step on it and pill it out. No biggie. Not the product fault. ;)

I bought this for our master stand up shower. My hair comes out a lot and we have a German Shepherd that sheds immensely all year but "blows her coat" twice a year (even worse). Our drains were always clogging. Anyways, this Tubfriend hair catcher fits PERFECTLY in our stand-up shower and works WONDERFULLY!!! I'm amazed by this simple piece of awesomeness!!! It's truly a game changer (2 months into usage)!!! Sorry its gross, but this is all the German Shepherd hair it caught during her bath today (& yes, I brushed her prior). It caught a TON of hair!!! SUPER EASY TO CLEAN!!

Great product! Works very well. It’s my cat’s favorite toy!! No seriously. We now keep it way up high which encourages frequent cleaning. If we leave it in she’s garnered to pull it out and we’ll find it in a bedroom somewhere with new bits chewed off. (She has cat appropriate toys. A whole bucket of them.)
Wouldn’t really go more than two showers without cleaning but I have long hair. It does the job!

The water drained pretty well, and when the bath was over, this may of hair was left. Gross. I was able to easily scoop up the hair from the tub, and removal from the hair catcher was SUPER easy, less than a minute. Then I put the hair cather back in the drain, and quick sprayed down the tub to collect the rest of the hair in the hari catcher. I had no trouble removing the hair wet.

This is a cheap, effective way to keep hair from clogging your tub drain. It's not pretty, but it works. It does sit a bit higher than a normal drain so we do bump them a lot but we don't knock it out of the drain. I have long, thick hair, so I clean it every couple of days, but it's easy and fast to clean the hair clump off. I clean the tubfriend we have every couple of weeks is a solution of 1/3 part bleach and 2/3 part water to dissolve the soap scum and other yucky stuff that builds up on them.

Having tried a few other preventions and solutions to blocked sinks and drains this product does a better job than the others.
It comes in a range of colours to fit most schemes, even if they are a little bright. The product clearly does its job as it fills up with hair fairly regularly and is easily cleared of hair by simply pulling it off or removing with a baby wipe.
My wife has very long hair and with 3 lads washing hair and shaving too it has been put through its paces. Despite this regular battering, the product shows no signs of wear 3 months later and is clearly well made.
Overall very impressed and would recommend.

The Shower Tubfriend she works very well when it’s in the shower... When it’s not the shower it’s a great cat toy as evidenced by my Product Tester Kitten, Ember who likes the Shroom’s soft, springy, hair catching nature so much that we find the Tubfriend in all manner of places in the house.
I definitely recommend the Tubfriend for its original and unintended purposes as it works great for both functions.

Have been using this in the shower for 3 months now, it has survived all of the hot water and still remains intact, in good condition. Catches alot of hair that would otherwise go down the drain. Really good idea and very useful.

I've had this about 2 months now and thought I'd really test it out by no longer brushing my hair before or during the shower. No clogs! It's amazing how much this thing catches considering it's this cheap looking piece of rubber that doesn't even fit well. I will say, it's much easier (and a lot less slimy) to clean when dry. And the loose fit (& lightweight) means sometimes my cat thinks he can play with it again and I'll find it in the bedroom floor. I tell everyone I know about this thing.

The TubFriend works exactly as advertised. It allows the water to drain, but it catches the hair for easy disposal. There's only one problem: our cat has decided that it's his, and he insists on pulling it out of the drain, carrying it out of the tub, and batting it all over the house. He's done this several times now. I would order another TubFriend just for him to play with, but I suspect he would still insist on pulling the one in the tub.
